Benefits of membership

• Protecting and managing intellectual property (IP) can be confusing, and as a result many business owners have no idea where to start. IPAP addresses this problem head-on by giving IPAP Members access to experts and the best legal consultants who specialize in Trademark, Copyright, Patent and Industrial Design protection.
• Members would be given special invitations to Seminars, Conferences and Meetings which are managed or organized by IPAP to learn about the most recent developments in the field of intellectual property and Annual Seminar covering a wide range of intellectual property issues.
• Access to resources on the IPAP website. Members shall be granted access to the “IP Watch Service” this service will help members stay informed about any and all identical, similar or conflicting marks that are on their way to being registered.
• Due Diligence of the members Intellectual Property registrations shall be done which will comprise of a brief IP Evaluation giving members a synopsis of what similar, identical and conflicting marks are present in the market and what steps should be taken to further strengthen their IP portfolio, resulting in Absolute IP Protection.
• Intellectual Property Association of Pakistan is on the list of non-governmental organizations with a growing consultative status within Pakistan (i.e. Chambers of Commerce, Associations, Trade bodies and University)
• Joining a professional society which is nationally recognized and abiding by all its professional requirements will improve the professional position of the members
• There is no doubt that governmental institutions prefer dealing with organizations rather than with individuals, in particular with respect to the issues of developing and proposing laws and regulations, and exchanging expertise in the field of intellectual property and other fields related to economic development. The members of IPAP can rest assured that IPAP is behind them in any and all legal matters to the best of its abilities. The voice of an individual might not carry the same weight-age as that of the collective force of IPAP.
• In its capacity as a professional body, IPAP will cooperate with Pakistani universities and higher education institutions to hold training courses and set up incubators hence protecting the IP for the innovators. IPAP will also cooperate with other professional organizations and participate in academic courses and professional research. IPAP will filter out the best possible business ideas and allow the members to have the first shot at investment opportunities.
• Although IPAP is a non-profit organization, for members of IPAP the legal fees shall be kept economical without compromising the pace or quality or service; and with the sole aim of stopping counterfeit trade and trademark violations.
